  1. Just played the 2 parts of the beginning and can say this is a blast! But, I got work tonight and gotta head to bed. But when I get back tomorrow morning, I will for sure get more progress!!

  2. I still have the first issue Official Xbox Magazine. Everyone gave Halo Combat Evolved an 86. Frank O’Connor was the only one that saw potitial in Halo.

    1. I first played Halo on a PC, not the original XBox. I was hooked, I was the MC. Halo is the first game where I felt like the main character, not guiding one via remote control. I laughed, cheered and cried playing the first 3 Halo games. Even got my grandson hooked on Halo and even Star Wars on the original XBox. Remember the release of the XBox 360 and the latest Halo games? These were events where people waited until the doors opened at stores, rushed in and bought the console or game, waving them as they walked out of the store. Halo is back, XBox is back and Microsoft and its customers will only benefit from the success of Halo.

    2. Yeah there are a lot of iconic games where game reviewers didn’t score them well as they deserved because many of them are completely bias and don’t know shit.

  3. I think Hallo’s biggest issue was that the «Slip Stream» engine took longer to build then they thought. I’m surprised how well the game turned out considering they built a new game engine from scratch, made a new game while also having to deal with a new console gen half way through. Keep in mind most games take around 2-3 years to make using existing game engines.

    1. Slip space engine*, unfortunately the engine isn’t as amazing as 343 made the depiction of it :(, however the game is absolutely mind-blowingly fantastic!

  4. I’m excited for Halo Infinites campaign. I ran through Halo Wars to Halo 5s campaigns. I even played Spartan Ops.

While waiting for Infinites campaign, I decided to go back to 5s multiplayer after 4yrs. Its such an enjoyable experience without all you good players dominating us mediocre ones 😆. I think I’m gonna just enjoy this a little while longer .

  5. Way to go Microsoft, Xbox and thanks 343🙂🙂

Looking forward to downloding and enjoying Halo Infinite later this week through PC gamepass.

Right now playing Serious Sam 4, The Gunk soon, Fireteam Elite, then Replaced, Darktide, Stalker 2, Starfield and all the gems coming 2022 and after.

Hope the vgas have some exciting announcements tomorrow.

    Thanks Zalker 87 🙂

  6. Such a glorious victory for Halo…the Xbox….GamePass and MS. It’s a bad time to be a pony right now taking Ls and watching the other side just win and win and win.

    1. What victory are you talking about??? Do you have it in your head that everyone wants to play halo. Just look at how rapidly the pc player count has dropped in the past 2 weeks proves that halo is not a must play game. It’s extremely mediocre gameplay and not even anywhere near on par with the likes of destiny.

But this should give you a boost. Imagine me sitting in the corner of my room weeping my eyes out. Repeatedly saying I want to play halo… its not fair.

Do this and you’ll get a great night’s sleep.

    2. @Jeahboy72 hey pony, I don’t give a fuck what you do. You can go finish playing twitter like you been doing. I’ll take the victory lap. Glorious Victory.

    3. @WaxDat8800 I don’t like halo I tried one of the older ones in the master chief collection and I just didn’t like it BUT seeing gameplay with the open world in infinite…… It looks really good so I downloaded it 😆

  7. It is not the visual showstopper it could be but they can always fix that. there are other issues and the metacritic score of 86 keeps it from becoming the powerhouse it needs to be.

  8. It was a good call to delay the game. Also, bringing in new leadership help was key. This shows that Phil and team are serious about their vision!

  9. Nah this game ain’t ready yet, this ain’t what we want it but it’ll get there. They were smart to release it like this instead of another delay cause the pros outweigh the cons

  10. Halfway through the game, the gameplay & sandbox is the best ever in the franchise, the soundtrack is decent, the story so far is superficial, full of bland b-movie cliches & won’t interest 30 year old men (its main demographic), the graphics are hit & miss, the open world doesn’t really work at all & the “mission design” as a result is the worst its ever been.

Feels like with the right team & leadership, Halo Infinite 2 could be a real masterpiece.

  11. The graphics are still garbage. Mediocre and nothing wow. For instance, like the overall character and open world design appears dated and nothing Ground breaking. Take for instance the overall graphics and design of the new Battle field? It’s far ahead of this Halo game.

    1. If you think the graphics are «garbage» I’m curious what kind of graphics pleases your eyes? Just sounds like you’re hating instead of just enjoying life.
You could just try the game for free on gamepass then provide your thoughts unless you don’t own an Xbox, and if you don’t own and xbox, then you are a Troll with the wrong job.

    2. @Evolve816 I know we have fanboys on the Xbox side but I don’t see them going to positive Playstation channels and talking crap about Playstation games but if they are doing it then shame on them

  12. I fail to see the attraction of this game. Or halo in general. Isn’t it just the same as destiny but with less content. Or is it like a football team thing. It doesn’t matter how badly your team plays you’ll still support it no matter what.

    1. Me too, the game is meh
Nothing looks good or climactic, there is no big battle, it’s just a 1 vs many like old school games
Multiplayer is only good as a free to play

    2. Ghost of Tsushima, god of war and Uncharted 4 I played for under a week and then never touched because they’re boring 🤷. Even on my PS5 I don’t plan on going back to them

    3. Well if you haven’t even tried it, then I’m not sure why you would even post?
Halo is a long on going series, so if you may not get it because you haven’t read/played the other stories.
You shouldn’t have to play the other stories though. You must have been born after 2000 if you only know what destiny is and not Halo.

  13. Well they put a lot of effort into this game, the Multiplayer is perhaps the best I have EVER played & they took their time making the game as amazing as it could possibly be, its legit up their with the original Trilogy & even though Sony fans tried their damnedest, ACTUALLY review bombing the game its still going to sell truckloads & will be a true return to form for the franchise

  14. If two thirds of the planned game were cut, I hope those two thirds are reworked and brought in as free DLC. I mean at this point the damn game is already piecemeal as is, so why not just bring in the rest of the open world later. And I stress free seeing as they charged $70 Can. For an incomplete game.

  15. I Halo is too big for its own good. The 4 game modes: SP, MP, Co~Op, Forge, all have different priorities & technical requirements. I think Halo can be spliced into at least 2 independent games: SP+Co~Op, MP +Forge.

  16. Bloomberg’s article highlighted a lot of issues with development that were suspected. It’s amazing to me for the third straight release they still couldn’t get it right. The turnover rate was high in 343, as most were contracted. Bonnie has to go. 343i’s suit and ties are terrible. Staten seemingly saved the game from being a complete disaster it seems like.

  17. Its Metacritic score is 86. I think it needed to be 90+ considering how it is the flagship franchise for Xbox. As a Halo fan, I will definitely love it but for someone who is new to the series, it is not a must play game. First impression means a lot nowadays and if the game had released with coop, forge, Ray tracing support and other features which they’ve decided to implement post-launch, it may have achieved a 90+ Metacritic score. Missed opportunity for Xbox.

  18. I think they should start using id Tech engines for future Halo games. As the flagship franchise for the Xbox (equivalent to God of War for PlayStation), it needs to look visually breathtaking.

  19. Is there any climactic or cinematic fight in this game?
The whole game is like a 1vs many old school games for the time that hardwares were too weak to handle big fights

  20. It’s interesting almost 2 thirds of the content was cut (assuming this is different biomes on zeta halo) however I like that they have a polished condensed world that looks so much fun to be in. Hopefully, regular updates that expand zeta halo with new biomes missions modes ect

  21. If 343 was an independent studio they would have released this game a year ago and would still be «fixing» it with patches to this day. The real story here is that being under Xbox gives studios the time and resources to produce the highest caliber games they can.

  22. So, long story short: Staten is cool and Microsoft needs to stop relying on contractors on long-term big budget projects this much. It’s kind of bizarre that you’re getting programers to learn new tools, yet they have to get out after 18 months, which is basically probably when they’re finally fully familiar with said tools, lol!

  23. The game is good but far from great. The open setting does exactly what I worried it would. It Far Cried the game. I’m over 4 hours in, I have no idea what the plot is other than a mean grunt threw me into space to die and a different angry grunt is trying to take over this ring. I have a Cortana like A.I. with me that I’m betting is actually a reborn Cortana with memory loss, but who knows yet. The open world is all the same. No variation in weather, topography, time of day or season. All the objectives are within shouting distance of each other, they all look the same, so the game doesn’t have the cool ambience and feel of discovery that Halo Combat Evolved had. And the open world kills the ability to script cool scenarios like in the original Bungie games. Bungie mixed wide open spaces along a track, so you had tactical freedom with the benefit of scripted action set pieces. This is a step back. Yes the combat feels better than it has in a long while. They did that right.
And one final thing. This game, like many Microsoft and triple AAA games in general, feels darn right child like. Almost like it’s been turned into a Disney movie. The original trilogy had some grit and edge to it. The characters attitude, like from an 80’s action flick. All the new characters are dumb, hysterical, and over emotional, with that “gee this is cool” thing that millennials do in all entertainment. It’s nauseating. But gaming in general is getting dumber and more sanitized. Unfortunately. In short, it’s good but far from great. Besides Forza and Flight simulator, XBox still has not produced a great game. It’s like they simple don’t get story telling and human drama. They only can grasp the technical aspect of gaming. It’s a shame, because I was really hoping for more.

  24. Honestly the shadows are bad the lighting is bad, when you look down on a solid surface you can see footprints pop in and put it’s like a weird delay. I feel the game is still not done its under baked. To me doesn’t look next gen or the halo that was promised to us. Maybe their will be next gen upgrade. The game looks halo 5.5 if that makes any sense. I believe I’m not alone with my concerns. I could of waited for a true next gen polished game.

    1. Dude Halo Infinite was not supposed to be next gen? It’s a cross gen game bro. You can play it on a low powered PC or your Xbox one?
That was a part of the problem to begin with, building a game to fit so many platforms versus focusing on one frame.

  25. The biggest problem about the development of Halo was certainly Microsoft’s policy for the contracts. You cannot let so many people leave a gaming company during an important phase of a game development, you need to change that policy and let people being able to renew their contract at least until the game is in a good shape. And the fact that they built a new game engine didn’t help at all, the combination of using and building a new game engine with so many developers leaving or coming into the company is the worst nightmare for a game development.

Now, I HOPE this story will be remembered at 343 because it’s NOT ACCEPTABLE to continue to do this way. They need to change drastically and improve for the better. I hope that their new engine will improve and become one of the best game engine in the future.
We, as gamers and consumer, needs to be aware of these type of situation and even if the result of this game is good, we cannot let 343 rest on their laurels, it’s not acceptable that Halo, their developers and the gamers went throw these anxious and tremendous moments, because HALO INFINITE would have become HALO FINITE. The franchise would have been cancelled and we wouldn’t have seen a new Halo game for a loooong time.

More I write about my opinion the more I become angrier at 343 and Microsoft, luckily they dodged a bullet but that doesn’t mean they can do it for a second time.
Congrats for being able to ship a great game but be careful 343, as you were built to develop just HALO, that same game has the chance to make you close down!!

  26. I’m pretty disappointed with the visuals to be honest.
There are no dynamic shadows from flashlights or other light sources, which has been in almost everything the past 10 years, the shadows are low res and load way too close, there’s plenty of pop in, especially in the tesselation of the ground, the lighting in outside areas is very flat, no ambient occlusion in many places, so everything in shadow sorta glows, sparks are just jpegs, not actual sparks. The texture on Chief’s hands isn’t stable in the open world, some animations are 30 fps for some reason.
The only good things are the textures and overall assets quality. You can get right into textures and they hold up almost flawlessly. But then again because of the flat lighting and shadows they don’t hold up from a distance.

It seems this engine that took them so much time isn’t very good at all. It also runs pretty badly on PC for what it is.

At least the gameplay is pretty incredible, so I really enjoy the game.

  27. The success of Halo Infinite, assuming EVERYTHING continues to go well, doesn’t erase 343’s culpability in this 6-year development fiasco.

I’ve played close to 50 hours of the multiplayer and two hours of the campaign… and I absolutely love everything I’ve seen, heard, and done in them so far. That said, I don’t give 343 extra credit for «hanging in there» as you seem more than willing to do in this video. Yes, the last-minute (well, additional year) push may have saved the franchise, but it should never have taken 5 years to make the game in the first place, much less 6. 6 years isn’t something to brag about. It’s NOT a sign of dedication, it’s a sign of incompetence. And let’s not ignore the fact that two big parts of the game (Co-op and Forge) are still MIA. Microsoft/343 has been silent about their status for quite some time now, and channels like this one seem so caught up in the campaign launch hype that they barely notice… or care.

I don’t see this early success as a «victory» for 343. I see it more as an «Okay, you get to keep your jobs, guys… so far.» kind of situation. I certainly hope they don’t think it’s all downhill from here.

    1. I agree with about everything you said. 343 is still questionable and should be on the hot seat with Phil. I would change up everything in 343 when everything in 343 their a huge liability. But also this is really bad considering the same thing happened when building Crackdown 3.

  28. It looks like a mixture of rage and far cry in this new open world. I’ve never played halo but even I downloaded it because it looks really good 😂

  29. Played the campaign disappointing!!!! 343 had 6 years for Microsoft’s flagship game. 343 do not know how to flush out a story, the levels indoor look similar and the open world becomes boring and repetative.
Yes you can choose whether or not to do certain things but when you do it’s the same things.
The cut scenes are jarring, there is not enough diversity in the levels. The open world just looks all the same and not so fun to explore.
Graphically it’s disappointing can barely tell the difference between this and last gen. The game has come out half baked

If you have the disc it doesn’t have the full game on it, you can’t replay levels until patch, no Co-op, no forge and in Multiplayer you can’t choose which modes you want to play. The progression set up is a mess.
The story ends abruptly with major story beats not been resolved and is mainly explained through audio logs.

This is definitely not the comeback everyone is saying. It’s just fanboys desperate to push a false narrative because they don’t want to their biggest franchise to fail.

343 should have delayed it longer but after last year’s debacle they couldn’t delay again. It’s a shame that it doesn’t come down to the gamers it’s about money in the pocket for these corporations.

I’ll give give this a maximum of 7 out of 10. The gameplay is fun but what you have to do in missions or especially side content is extremely repataive, outdoors is bland, graphically not up to scratch.

For me Halo just doesn’t mold together and the open world just takes you out of that classic Halo feel it just doesn’t hit the beats story wise. Plus took me 12 hours to complete the campaign.

As I said 343 have not delivered the experience I was expecting, releasing a half baked game that looks reasonably last gen. For a flagship title 6 years in development you should expect better and demand better. Yes the gameplay is fun but for title of this magnitude it has to many issues and doesn’t hit the the heights of previous installments.

I was looking forward to playing this all year. Well at least there is the multiplayer to go back to once they sort out progression and monitisation, plus better game modes. Bring back Bungie.
