  1. Those that want to keep using their obsolete XP11 and P3D sims will use this as a ludicrous excuse to bash the greatest sim of any type ever made by humankind. PMDG has made it clear that MSFS is the best sim ever made for their aircraft, and it hardly matters whether it runs on an extremely powerful console or a PC.

    1. I was a hardcore xplane 11 user and after giving this sim a chance during Alpha and Beta I saw the potential it had and guess what I got hooked and never went back to Xp11.
Msfs is the only sim installed on my rig and my copy is already flooded with payware and freeware add-ons 😁
The P3D and XP boys won’t agree with you but this sim is the future!

    2. The current consoles are basically PCs now, and have been since the PS4/XB1 era. It’s silly for fanboys to discount the Series X, which is more powerful than 90% of PCs out there (just look at the Steam Hardware survey)

    3. Well I still use both P3D and X Plane as I fly helicopters and MSFS does not have official support for helicopters . There are two hacks for helicopters and they are fun but absolutely no where near X plane in terns of reality and probably not as good as even P3D . The other issue is I enjoy using photo realistic scenery and in Australia the ridiculous amount of trees in a semi arid country completely spoil low and slow VFR in MSFS turning it into a cartoon. Yeah it’s passable but given I fly in real life it’s hardly acceptable compared to photo realistic scenery I’m P3D or X Plane . You may think these sims s are obsolete in your opinion but to be obsolete they need to be better for less price and for me MSFS had neither of these outcomes for me and plenty of other simmers would agree there is a huge functionality gap in MSFS.

  2. How the flight simulation landscape has changed, all within a year. Microsoft brings their flight sim to the Xbox Series X. Is this something your interested in?

    1. will test it out but will continue to play it on PC, as I have many mods and external programs running with it.
However, seeing as how many people struggle to maintain a PC running properly, this is great for everybody not knowledgable with PCs and for those that don’t have the time to deal with all the things that running a Gaming PC brings with it.

    2. I’m always interested in your well documented reviews en advise. But how long will the consoles keep up with pc’s. I hope Microsoft don’t limit the SIM for us pc users because not breaking the console compatibility.

  3. I agree that Xbox cannot replace PC. My reasons are :
    1) several peripherals (rudder/throttle/yoke) connected inside living room is not really ideal and moving them every time to play is definitely not ideal
    2) I’m a heavy user of free addons and mods.. I don’t think they could be added to Xbox. I wonder if the community folder can be shared between the Xbox and the PC under same wifi ?
    3) I’m a recent user for Trackir and as many people said once trying head tracking, it’s difficult to play without it
    4) VR.. Microsoft is strangely does not consider it on the Xbox at least in near future. I think, they are focusing now on getting as much people as possible to their Netflix version of gaming (game pass subscription)

However, I will play it on Xbox from time to time as a relaxing time on my couch. I expect Microsoft will probably support cheaper but efficient joysticks such as Logitech Extreme 3D pro as I don’t think normal Xbox controller will be comfortable nor natural in flight simulator

    1. @Garil Forgecoeur I agree.. but who is console simmer? X-plane, p3d, aeroflyfs are all PC (I don’t consider iPad/cellphone games real simulators in my opinion).
Maybe Microsoft is motivating the creation of a new category of serious console simmers..

    2. Just thought I’d add to your comment about PC vs XBOX

I have a series x and a pc with a 3070 vision and I7-10700. So I can play it on both and crush the game on either one lol. I refuse to believe that my series x will be a system that I play it on to actually take it seriously.

REASON1- Xbox is typically set up in a place like a theatre room or living room and is not a “simulator” experience

REASON2 although Xbox will get the world updates and DLC they WILL NOT be getting realistic live real voice communications with ATC etc. so that’s cheesy……

REASON3 it’s an Xbox and it will be choppy (bad FPS drops) no matter what developers say pre release. Will have reduced draw distance and depth perception. Will likely be dumbed down despite what developers say….

VERDICT. If your a serious flight simmer and are passionate about aviation just get a pc because it will outperform an Xbox if you use a setup like mine or even lesser like a 3060 ti etc.

Conclusion.. I will play for serious training/simulation on my PC. XBOX will be for a “game” mess around experience. Hope the people that read this can take something from this and learn to just buy a pc lol.

PS IM NOT A PC MASTERACE GUY…. I had an Xbox my whole life and just built my first pc this January and pc is superior…. GOOD DAY ALL.

  4. No i wil not switch, at least as long my PC works oké ( i have a MICROSOFT STORE purchase ) and to many adonn’s on the PC working only with Windows. Incase my PC goes to the great spirit in the Heavens i wil stick to what i have now

  5. I wonder if it will run without crashes , and no stutters, no windows updates that could mess things up, then this could be a big selling point to new users, at the moment ,a top pc to run MSFS will cost an arm and a leg , and the majority of simmers is happy with a stick and some rudder pedals.
If the most popular controls and add ons will be compatible , then I believe there is a future for it,

  6. Just brought a Series X for Microsoft flight simulator, as I don’t have a PC.. I’m sure it will run fine on it… I trust that they will make it work..!

    1. @Sir. Albion71 and have never really believed in Microsoft, but I think this time they will pull it off, I feel things have changed now, and they really believe in their product, this is the start of something new.!

  7. I might consider the Xbox due to the lack of RTX3080’s (not for the lack of trying) for 4k running, it’s even cheaper.
Built a new system in February but the «the video card»?

  8. I just managed to «snag» an Xbox series X at MSRP. Lucky me. Unlucky me is that I cannot get my hands on any kind of a decent video card and I do have two VR headsets. So for now, FS for me will be on the Xbox and Google Earth VR for sort of something like it at times in VR.. I was an avid simmer through FSX when I walked away from it. Can’t wait to jump back in now that it is a whole new ball game. Google really missed a golden opportunity on this one. They were sleeping along with Lockheed Martin and all of the others. This is going to be a gigantic long term revenue stream for MS. Xbox even ran multiple commercials on the televised portion of the Grand Ole Opry from Nashville last night. They’re stoked.

  9. Price is Ok(ish),I own the ten DVD European version so I’m not sure if this qualifies as transferable to the X-box.I’m also inrerested to know if I could run a powered usb hub and wireless keyboard from it……………………….

  10. I was hoping for them to push for 60 FPS but sadly this will be running at 30 FPS. Does anyone there if there a going to be Real Ai Liveries for Air traffic or nah?

  11. Will my usb Logitech 3D Pro joystick fit and be recognised? It’s all I need, please accept my cheapy joystick X! Interesting that the mfs2020 sim is for X/S but the VelocityONE is for the X/S and ONE also. What game can you find on the ONE where you can use this flight control with?

    1. It should be seeing as I’ve used a few joysticks in the past on the Xbox, like I did with war thunder and some other console based flying games

  12. VR VR VR VR VR VR VR VR VR VR VR…will this be a last minute announcement?? woa…they said its not dummied down so …are they saying yes or not for vr lol

  13. If any of you are struggling to get a series x, i got mine early January because a Twitter account called «UK Xbox series X and PS5 Stock Alerts» gave me a notification. Hope i helped!

  14. Here in the United States it’s insane to find one . Ebay scalpers are price gouging like crazy! At least I have a decent pc to run it for the past year.

  15. One BIG minus about the XBOX console. That 16 GB of RAM is shared between CPU and GPU… That’s why Mr M. Kok from Aerosoft thinks, that his company Twinn Otter will be the best aeroplane addon available for the console. No CRJ, no PMDG etc.

    1. same here its now a plug and play being 71 and no pc experience means no more folders . programs .downloads etc and heart ache bring it on guys

    2. I’m too lazy to get a PC. I have the money up to 2000 dollars, but every time I try considering buying a PC, there’s all this technical stuff and then questions on whether a new game will be playable or not etc etc, so I’m just sticking with the xbox. lol

    1. What I think the hardcore flight simmers, aviation enthusiast are the ones that will be sticking to the PC versions and lots of 3rd party content may not come to the X BOX.

    2. @GT-AVIATOR yup that’s what I think as well. which is why I must have my pc for “simulators” and unique games that don’t make it to consoles. Plus it will run it smoother than Xbox because my build in particular is more powerful. I have a series x as well and like it but for relaxed games 😉

  17. If the console can run this, then I think they should also consider getting Euro truck and American truck simulator also. A lot of console players really want more sims like that.

  18. How do these flight sticks/wheel things work? Is there any type of force feedback or what? I’m sure that’s a dumb question but I have never got into flight sims before but I am thinking of buying one when it comes to XSX.

  19. I’m super happy its coming to Xbox, can’t afford a new gaming laptop, but already have an Xbox. I pre-order it as soon as it was on the Xbox store.

  20. Mark, super helpful video as always — thank you. I’ve been holding off buying a high end gaming laptop or desktop capable of running MSFS. I wouldn’t need it for anything other than this so probably the way ahead for me. I’ll wait for your review when it gets released next month then probably bite the bullet!

  21. Great video Mark. It’s going to be interesting to see how it can stack up with our expensive pc’s that will become always faster and more powerful but the Console could be a more stable platform with less bugs maybe? I can only fly in VR like many others like VR Flight Sim Guy

  22. Will you be able to grind on this game and do passenger flights and get money and buy new planes and that, or do u literally just fly around?

  23. Watching you shake the Xbox was harrowing, that said, my series x is ready! Never have played flight simulator and don’t have any of the controllers yet but I’m excited by recent upgrades and the sheer scope and graphics of this game

  24. Thrustmaster HOTAS is borderline acceptable, the HORI is an absolute pile of crap with fake buttons just to look good and no twist rudder.
